Personal Growth

Don Clifton, the founder of CliftonStrengths™, began his research into studying people by asking “What is right with people? What do people do well? What makes people successful?” One of the problems with traditional psychology is that often it stresses perceived faults, not least because of a cultural belief in a dark subconscious fuelled by selfish and base intentions.

Working with your talents is about becoming aware of your natural ways of being, accepting them, and then deliberately using them to increase your impact and fulfilment in daily life. This in turn will have positive repercussions in your work, your relationships and your well-being as a whole.

Learning to use your talents and apply them to your life as various situations require is an empowering and uplifting process.

This doesn’t mean that you are encouraged to look away from problems or disregard issues that are not working well. Rather, that you are empowered to find solutions using the means at your disposal that come naturally to you, or partner with others who have the qualities or skills required to compliment your own.

In this way personal development becomes an energising, uplifting and creative process, rather than an uphill struggle.

My coaching starts with the CliftonStrengths™ assessment, and from there we progress with sessions using that framework as a basis for growth and empowerment.
